Apakah semua orang Kristen harus mengerti bahasa Ibrani dan Yunani supaya bisa mendalami Alkitab? Tidak ada keharusan demikian. Apalagi tidak semua orang Kristen mengalami pendidikan teologia, khususnya dua bahasa asli Alkitab itu.
Kita bisa menggunakan aplikasi-aplikasi – baik komputer ataupun smartphone – yang banyak menawarkan bantuan tentang dua bahasa asli Alkitab ini. Biasanya ditampilkan bahasa Ibrani atau Yunaninya dengan terjemahannya dalam bahasa Inggris. Selama kita memegang kamus bahasa Inggris, sebenarnya tidak terlalu sukar juga.

Pilihan lainnya adalah coba gunakan berbagai terjemahan Alkitab untuk memahami ayat-ayat tertentu. Memang terjemahan Alkitab pasti membawa gaya tulis penerjemahnya, latar belakangnya, dan mungkin juga doktrin-doktrin yang dipegangnya. Tetapi tetap juga itu adalah “tulisan yang diilhamkan Allah”[1]. Dan kita bisa menarik pelajaran dari setiap terjemahan ini. Berarti harus membeli beberapa Alkitab? Tidak juga. Kebanyakan aplikasi pembelajaran Alkitab menyediakan fitur pemasangan beberapa terjemahan Alkitab, dan sekaligus bisa membandingkannya.
Contohnya, kita akan melihat satu ayat yang terkenal ini.
Pencobaan-pencobaan yang kamu alami ialah pencobaan-pencobaan biasa, yang tidak melebihi kekuatan manusia. Sebab Allah setia dan karena itu Ia tidak akan membiarkan kamu dicobai melampaui kekuatanmu. Pada waktu kamu dicobai Ia akan memberikan kepadamu jalan ke luar, sehingga kamu dapat menanggungnya.[2]
Pertanyaan yang diajukan adalah, apakah yang dimaksud dengan pencobaan-pencobaan biasa? Di bawah ini kita bisa baca beberapa terjemahan Alkitabnya.

Dari terjemahan-terjemahan di atas, kita bisa mendapatkan makna dari pencobaan-pencobaan biasa.
- Pencobaan dialami semua manusia, tidak ada manusia yang tidak mengalami pencobaan.
- Setiap pencobaan yang kita alami, memiliki “level” yang sama dengan pencobaan yang dialami orang lain. Saya tidak bisa mengatakan bahwa pencobaan yang saya alami lebih berat daripada yang Anda alami.
- Pencobaan-pencobaan yang biasa sama artinya dengan sesuatu yang normal atau lazim dialami oleh semua manusia. Berarti, jika tidak ada pencobaan, sebenarnya itu tidaklah normal atau tidak lazim.
Nah, cukup menolong kan dalam kita mempelajari Alkitab. Apakah hari-hari ini Anda merasakan pencobaan-pencobaan yang “terasa” berat? Ayo kembali ke Alkitab! Apakah benar itu berat?
